At the beginning of April 2016 Peter Verdi's Magnetic Scrolls Chronicles website went offline. So far all my attempts to contact Peter failed. His site carried some invaluable interviews with former Magnetic Scrolls people. To preserve the work I temporarily uploaded a dump of his site taken in summer of 2015. All you can see below is 100% Peter's work! Hopefully his site will reappear soon! Peter, if you read this, can you contact me?

This is the "Files" section of "Myth". Here you will find all the hard facts about the game, like general information, a plot synopsis and trivia - in other words, these are "Myth Files".

Plot Summary

Nobody would have suspected anything fishy when Zeus invited you to his temple warming party. Being a god in ancient Greece can be a little dull, despite all the intrigues between your fellow deities and toying around with mortals. Sometimes one needs a little distraction, even if it's just relatives, like your brother Zeus, his charming wife Hera, your dad Kronos, Persephone and all the other lads and lasses.

And here you are, Poseidon, god of the sea, making merry with your relatives. God of the sea. Can be quite embarrassing to be the ruler of the sea and everything living (and dead) in it when you can't even swim. Of course, the red water wings help, but the whole image you project isn't very god-like, innit?

The party was quite a blast up until Zeus stood up and started a rousing speech about the religious monopoly being eroded by new gods surfacing left and right, especially Christianity being a real thorn in the side. Zeus proposed that each one of the gods should - quote - "tighten your slack attitudes, rout your complacent outlooks and rid yourselves of these pot-bellies because only then you will be fit to take on the challenge with the necessary courage and vitality" - quote -. Much to the dismay of the party guests Zeus launched into his closing speech telling each and every one of them that they would all be given a task as a test of their fitness. And as you should have known, the first one to receive a task was of course ... you. Before you could even make the slightest objection there was a flash and rolling thunder and in the blink of an eye you found yourself outside the gates of Hades (commonly known as the Underworld).

And here you are. Poseidon, god of the sea, not being able to swim, stripped of all your godly powers, only equipped with your shield and trademark trident facing the guardian of the gates of Hades - the Hydra, a fearsome many-headed serpent. The task given to you by Zeus sounds quite discouraging. Steal Hades' helmet of invisibility from the throne room in the palace. Getting past the Hydra is just the first obstacle of many. There's still Charon, the ferryman, and let's not forget the little lamb. How does that all come together? Well ... that's really up to you now, Poseidon . . .
