At the beginning of April 2016 Peter Verdi's Magnetic Scrolls Chronicles website went offline. So far all my attempts to contact Peter failed. His site carried some invaluable interviews with former Magnetic Scrolls people. To preserve the work I temporarily uploaded a dump of his site taken in summer of 2015. All you can see below is 100% Peter's work! Hopefully his site will reappear soon! Peter, if you read this, can you contact me?

Remember how it's like to ride on a cloud? How it feels to be squashed by a bus, or how to get that damned gold disc from Micky? Well, here's your chance to relive all these situations.

Have a chat with the devil in THE PAWN, ransack an entire island in THE GUILD OF THIEVES, restore luck itself to a whole country in JINXTER, uncover a conspiracy in CORRUPTION, become an inter-dimensional secret agent in FISH!, an ancient god in MYTH, walk in the footsteps of Alice in WONDERLAND and inherit a haunted mansion in THE LEGACY.
Become a part of the fantasy of Magnetic Scrolls - you certainly won't regret it . . .

Stock Exchange Terror

This summer adventure-freaks won't be getting much sleep, as Magnetic Scrolls ("Guild of Thieves", "Jinxter") are working on a new game which will be released on almost every computer system you can imagine.

"Corruption" is the title of a thriller set in the finance-world. You are doing well as a businessman and have been working hard for that partnership in the broking-firm you work for. But your first day as a manager quickly becomes your worst nightmare as somebody tries to kill you. Your goal in the game will be to find out who is behind the murder-attempts and you must also gather enough evidence to convince the police that you are telling the truth - and all this has to be done in one day. Magnetic Scrolls' Anita Sinclair told us that "Corruption" is going to be the most unusual adventure the company has released to date, as it won't feature any conventional puzzles.

The game will be all about gaining information from all kinds of sources. The most important source of information in the game are -like in real life - people, which means you have to talk a lot with other people, try to ask the right questions and eavesdrop on other people's conversations. Mind you - you have to be careful not to give away too much information or let people know how much you really know by asking them the wrong questions. Mistakes like that could shorten your lifespan drastically . . .

The people at Magnetic Scrolls are perfectly aware of the fact that not everyone will like "Corruption". The fact that this game is more about conversation than puzzle-solving won't make it easy to understand for newbies in the genre. Like all the previous Magnetic Scrolls games, "Corruption" will feature about 30 hand-drawn pictures. What makes this game different is the fact that these pictures are not associated with certain locations, but with certain events and people. It could well be that a location you visit frequently won't be illustrated by a picture, unless a certain event takes place and triggers the graphics to be shown. Corruption should be in stores by the end of June/beginning of July. The demo-version we played didn't feature any graphics yet but the finished game will have the usual Magnetic Scrolls look with text and scrollable pictures.
