At the beginning of April 2016 Peter Verdi's Magnetic Scrolls Chronicles website went offline. So far all my attempts to contact Peter failed. His site carried some invaluable interviews with former Magnetic Scrolls people. To preserve the work I temporarily uploaded a dump of his site taken in summer of 2015. All you can see below is 100% Peter's work! Hopefully his site will reappear soon! Peter, if you read this, can you contact me?

Remember how it's like to ride on a cloud? How it feels to be squashed by a bus, or how to get that damned gold disc from Micky? Well, here's your chance to relive all these situations.

Have a chat with the devil in THE PAWN, ransack an entire island in THE GUILD OF THIEVES, restore luck itself to a whole country in JINXTER, uncover a conspiracy in CORRUPTION, become an inter-dimensional secret agent in FISH!, an ancient god in MYTH, walk in the footsteps of Alice in WONDERLAND and inherit a haunted mansion in THE LEGACY.
Become a part of the fantasy of Magnetic Scrolls - you certainly won't regret it . . .

This is the "Text" section of "Corruption". Here you will find articles, previews and reviews of "Corruption" I gathered over time.

Review from "Happy Computer" magazine 9/1988
Article written by Anatol Locker and used with kind permission from the author; translated by Peter Verdi

Excellent Adventure Thriller: Murder, Intrigues and Insider-dealings on your Atari ST

That was pretty fast: after a successfull deal you have been offered a partnership in the company you work for. Of course you accepted. You would have been a fool not to. What's the outcome? You get more money, a better car and a new secretary. Everything seems to be as good as it gets. But if you are not cautious your whole career could be over within a single afternoon. Somebody tries to frame you. They're hiding cocaine in your office, they're sending mysterious blackmail-cheques and they don't even stop at a murder attempt.
It's only natural that you want it to stop. But who is behind this deadly game of intrigues? A jealous colleague? Your over-zealous secretary? Or mabye even your wife who likes to be a little unfaithful to you?

"Corruption" isn't a typical adventure game. In this game you are not on a treasure hunt - you have to ask people a lot of questions, show them things and watch their reactions. When you are sure you have nailed down your guy you have to go to the police and make a denunciation which you have to take a very good account for, because the coppers are very wary and you will have a hard time convincing them.

"Corruption" is the fourth adventure from software-pro's Magnetic Scrolls, who had phenomenal success with their top-class adventures "The Pawn", "Guild of Thieves" and "Jinxter". Just like it's predecessors, "Corruption" is technical perfection. Not only are you getting a gripping adventure game that understands the gamer in (almost) every situation - you also get around thirty pictures that illustrate the game drawn pixel by pixel by british graphic artists.

Beginners should be careful though, because "Corruption" is a really hard game that will even keep professionals occupied. The english texts are very atmospheric, but also quite demanding. Better keep the dictionary within reach. The ST-version of "Corruption" runs on both colour- and monochrome-monitors.

Summary: An excellent Thriller-adventure from the makers of "Guild of Thieves". Very difficult.
